A few weeks ago I had the tremendous opportunity to hear Pastor Marvin Sapp preach a sermon at my church. Marvin Sapp is a phenomenal gospel artist but before he became a famous singer, he was a Minister. He said a few words that I have since carried with me and lean on in difficult times. He shared the story about his wife passing away at such a young age and how he suddenly became a single parent. He talked about the difficult time he endured trying cope with his loss...and how that season in his life inspired him to write the song, "My Testimony" because he realized that he may not be where he wants to be YET...but he's made it this far even though at one point - he didn't think "making it" was even possible.
I've realized that when I'm going through a dark stormy season in my life or a period of depression, that for me, every day is "making it." I may not have achieved all that I want to achieve (yet) but I made it to today....I made it through....and that in itself is worth praising God for.
Yay! That's a beautiful poem. So true about life and how we should thank God for each day we are given to live. Even with all the struggles we may face, life is still worth living. :) Thanks for sharing such awesome talent. :)
