Single-hood

Hey all! Starting divinity school has been the best experience of my life. I have been consumed with shaping and forming my own personal theology and developing skills that will enable me to become the best minister I can be. However, I believe that I was using the endless homework divinity school comes along with to distract myself from my semi-recent "single-hood."

Single-hood n. def: 1) the state in which single girls (specifically us educated, gorgeous ones) are faced to come to the reality of loving ourselves, without a man in spite of all of the women around us in marriages and relationships. 2) having all your insecurities thrown into your face.

I have been praying about how or why God threw all these changes on me so quickly but then it hit me that He would never give me anything that I can't handle. Especially with Him and the amazing people He graciously put in my life. So I made a deal with God. Through the time that I am devoting my studies to him I will be single and focus on him not only academically but spiritually as well.

This may be a tough task but definitely something that I am looking forward to doing!

(Suggestions welcome.)

How do all of you beautiful ladies embrace your single-hood? Surround yourself with friends and family? Devote yourselves to studies or work? Or maybe you have your own personal interests and hobbies that give you a pleasure no man can. Whatever it is, we would like to know!
