Lots of good stuff goin' on over here. You know how I've been on this DIY kick? Well, I decided to roll up my sleeves and do some home improvement projects around the house. In the last few days, I've caulked the kitchen counter and re-caulked the tub. I've also gotten permission from my landlord to put an exhaust fan in my bathroom - kinda crazy that we didn't have one already because they're tres important to prevent mold. Our house was built in the 60s though so it needs a lot of updating. I've been enjoying these little projects; I feel super productive.
Also, I'm happy to report that I have stuck to my word about taking a break and this past week, a friend watched my son two nights in a row so I could do non-mommy stuff. The first night, I went out for drinks with a group of other young professionals in the area. The second night, My Guy and I had a rare date night and it was fabulous. I even talked him into renting Bridesmaids (hilarious!!).
I've also been cookin' up a storm and trying new recipes. Last week I made mini-quiches using muffin tins. Today, Little Man and I made a homemade pizza. yum. And even though I haven't been eating as healthy as I probably should be (i.e. pizza)...I managed to lose 2 more pounds in the last week or so! Which means I'm now only 12 pounds away from my final goal, woohoo.
What good stuff has been happening in your life?
Congrats on the new "home" projects and taking a break! Your question made me realize that there have to be some good things going...so I was able to find a few. The Women's Bible Study class I have been attending is making me think of life in a new perspective...learning not to be anxious about anything --> shifiting it to God. That's a load off my shoulders for sure :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've been enjoying simple things with my guy...like watching Jimmy Fallon clips and thinking of a million little ways to say I Love You without spending a dime. I took a comp day on Friday and did absolutely nothing -- one of the best days ever!! Oooh...this list could get long, so I'll stop there.
Thanks for sharing Jazz! That's a lesson I certainly need to learn myself - shifting everything to God. Glad you got to spend some quality time with your Honey and just doing nothing! - Ashley
