I am in love with the Old Testament. I believe it is the most beautiful book written of all time. When I read it, I read as though it is a love letter to the ALMIGHTY GOD. So I think that I'm going to discuss a passage from the Old Testament once a week? I hope you enjoy! Let me know!
Isaiah 65: 1-5
1 “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’ 2 All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations— 3 a people who continually provoke me to my very face, offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on altars of brick; 4 who sit among the graves and spend their nights keeping secret vigil; who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of impure meat; 5 who say, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!’ Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.When I read this passage at church this morning, I didn't quite get it. But as I pondered it when I got home I understood it. And loved it!
Isaiah went out. He set out on a new mission among strangers and those who criticized him and aimed to chastise and discourage him. However, he knew why he was there. He continued to "hold out his hands to an obstinate people."
This week, go out and hold out your hands. Find those who are in need of God's words and spread the Gospel. You may get turned away, however you were placed on this earth for a reason & placed in God's care for a reason. Spread the love.
