My boyfriend and I have always been long distance. We not only went to school 45 minutes away from one another but we live on separate coasts! So that makes breaks like summer vacations kind of difficult. Here's how we deal with being 2,454 miles away :)
Check-Ins- My mainsqueeze is working full time this summer so we rarely talk during the day. But whenever we get a chance we would check-in with one another during the day. Ya know, to make sure we weren't abducted by aliens or anything...
Keep in common- Read a book together. We recently read Kirk Franklin's "The Blueprint." We also watched "The Passion of the Christ" together while over the phone. Interesting.
Turn OFF the love songs- I do not, I repeat, I do not sit around waiting for my phone to ring. Go out. Enjoy your time apat! Stay busy with friends or a hobby of your own.
Phone dates- Ok obviously communication is a given but its hard to communicate often when there's jobs, friends, and family taking up our individual time. So we have a time where we like to "meet up" at night whether it's on a phone call or video chat.
Long distance tool kit: video chat, unlimited texting, self-confidence and patience.
I think we figured it out for the most part and I'm happy about that! How do you guys deal with your long distance love?
