Weighing In

5lbs! Yup, I finally weighed myself and I've lost a whopping 5lbs in the last month. Okay, I know 5lbs isn't much but considering I haven't been this "small" since...college?  It's a pretty big deal to me. I feel slender, sexier and happier! I actually enjoy looking in the mirror now and above all, I'm proud of myself. I'm proud because I finally realized that I'm the only one standing in my way and it's time for me to move it.


That being said, I fell off the wagon last week. I know, I know I'm a hypocrite. But it was my birthday week and that came with drinks and cake and more drinks. I still stayed relatively close to my caloric goals and used my food diary to keep track of everything but ohemgee who knew how many calories would be in a shot of deliciousness or a glass of moscato?


Plus, I haven't exercised much since the 10k. I've done a few workouts on exerciseTV which have been really great but I haven't had much time or energy for running. Today, I decided that I've been lazy enough and I ran 1.5 miles. My goal is to work back up to running 3-4 miles, 2 or 3 times a week. That's the requirement to start half marathon training in August. Like how I just threw that in there? Yes, I'm thinking about training for a half marathon! I'm nervous though because I'm a super slow runner and 13.1 miles is um kinda far. I've also decided that I'm going to lose another 7lbs before memorial day weekend. Lofty but achievable goals. I always do better when I'm working toward something.

What lofty goals do you have for yourself this spring?

random sidenote: I bought Jennifer Hudson's new cd "I remember me" and it's amazing. She confronts a lot of the same issues my sister and I discuss on our blog.
