Friday is a pretty big day for me. On Friday it’ll be me and my boyfriend Will’s one year anniversary!
This is my longest relationship, ever! In my mere 20 years of existence I have never met a man so caring, so loving, so respectful, and plus he reminds me so much of my dad! We met last year, on Easter break. He saw me walk into Taco Bell one day after our schools played each other in basketball (we’re rivals). The friend he was with in Taco Bell happened to know me, so after I left he had is friend follow me outside (typical). Anyways, weeks later, his friend introduced us and when I met my man sparks began to fly. I’ll never forget meeting him in his baby blue Polo, khaki pants and brown Sperry’s (I dig the preppy look).
Our relationship definitely has its ups and downs, twists and turns and everything in between. Not to mention it is a long distance relationship! We go to school 45 minutes away from one another. Also, we come from two completely different worlds. I’m a Southern California Girl and he’s a Preppy Southern Gentleman. How did we do it? We’re founded on the basis of God.
My boyfriend and I are celibate!
We’re two celibate, young, attractive college students. Difficult? Yes! But worth it in the end. Keeping our eyes on marriage definitely helps. We believed in dating for a purpose. Not just to have a significant other. We love each other, but love God more. WAY MORE. We go to church together, have the same godly friends and pray with each other every night over the phone. His faith in God keeps me 100% attracted to him! Sometimes it’s hard trying to explain to my friends why we chose to abstain from sex, but to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way and I am not ashamed of it whatsoever! We even had to stop kissing for a while… crazy? Probably. But hey, anything to fend off temptation!
I am so incredibly happy to have been with him for one year, and I look forward to the many, many years to come!
Are you in college and celibate? Or want to become celibate but don’t know where to start? Let me know and we can work together!
Congrats on one year Jess! You are a strong motivated woman and I know you serve as an inspiration for many! Keep it up!!!
